Five things you can do before starting

your entrepreneurial venture

I come from a middle-income earning household, and none of my family relatives or friends is millionaires. I am supported by a young family with two toddlers and hence jumping into a startup and taking the plunge is extremely risky.

Starting my business is one of the hardest decision I had to take, considering that I will take my entire family on an uncertain path and lots of hustle.  

I decided to leave my secure 6-figure salary to follow my passion for solving problems through my entrepreneurial journey. But before I decided to fall off the cliff, I did the following to gain more confidence and fall back position.

1. Seek validation - Focus on first validating your problem, solution, business model. Built evidence-based entrepreneurship
2. Plan for 3 or 6-month runway - Save money to cover your expenses
3. Re-align your persona - Understand the journey and prepare your mindset and expectations
4. Built your team - Find your A-team early and invest in them
5. Become 2x productive - Unlock your true potential and become more efficient

With Ayaan (my newborn second baby) on board, my life has challenged and shaken my productivity system for the last few months. I am struggling to juggle things both personally and with the startup.

Founder to CEO

It's a Google Doc that used to be called "Founder to CEO", and it's a 200+ page guide to all the crucial decisions founders go through.

It was written by Matt Mochary. He eventually turned it into a book too. It's written a lot like Ray Dalio's "Principles" -- so very short, bulleted, to-the-point. And covers everything from building a team to managing your time, decision making, fundraising, and more. You can read the whole thing here- link.
