7 ways ChatGPT boosts my productivity as a startup founder
If you have clicked this post, I assume you already know about ChatGPT and how it works. This post will not cover that; instead, it is how I use ChatGPT as a startup founder to boost my productivity.
I am a tech startup founder and father of two, and I run two other businesses. More about my story here 👇
I have been using ChatGPT and OpenAI for the last few months in various parts of my startup and personal life. The biggest takeaway so far is the ability of ChatGPT to boost productivity significantly.
Here are 7 ChatGPT prompts that I use as my productivity hack.
#1 Turn long articles into bite-sized content.
I love to read more content daily but often struggle to find the time to consume long-form content (for example, a research article on financial services in developing countries). I use ChatGPT to help me convert the long piece into a small and more readable one.
I ask ChatGPT to read and understand the article and provide me with a summary capturing the critical points (less than 500 words).
A good example is ChatGPT wrote the excerpt of this blog post.
#2 Compose email quickly
Another time-consuming task is replying to emails. I used the power of ChatGPT to read my emails and compose replies quickly. It sounds like a magical assistant.
I use the below Chrome extension 'ChatGPT Writer'. You can also add this to your Gmail account.
#3 Get ChatGPT to kickstart your research.
Procrastination is the enemy of progress. Often, I use ChatGPT to give me a kickstart with any new activity. Here are two examples
- I used ChatGPT to help me start generating a list of investors who invest in fintech startups. This list kickstarted my research into the investors and worked on them.
2. When faced with a huge task, for example - Preparing a 3-year financial model for my startup. I use ChatGPT to help me break down the task into manageable and achievable smaller tasks.
#4 Use AI to plan your day.
ChatGPT can efficiently assist you in organizing regular meetings, duties, and work agendas. Spend a short time evaluating your workload to identify high-priority tasks and those that are less pressing.
Maintaining a task list can enhance your efficiency as it enables you to monitor your daily objectives and averts the sensation of being swamped, which may arise when faced with numerous tasks to complete.
I use reclaim.ai for my everyday scheduling.
#5 Turn ChatGPT into a business consultant.
As you probably already know, ChatGPT might help you through the entire process of starting your business. I have used ChatGPT numerous times to get more help on specific guidance/tips on startups.
Recently, I used ChatGPT to help me work on the pricing strategy of setting up a subscription package for - MyGigsters.
Note - the advice from ChatGPT at your own risk
#6 Use It to develop prompts.
This is the power of AI; You can use ChatGPT to write prompts that can be used in other applications. For example, I use the prompt generated by ChatGPT in creating AI art in Mid-journey. Microsoft Designer and Canva AI.
#7 Analyse massive data and financials easily
If you are someone who does value investing, you should be reading countless pages of company financial reports to make an informed decision before investing. These reports often contain a considerable amount of text, motherhood statements and financial statements (like balance statements, Profit and loss statements and more).
You can use ChatGPT to read financial reports and prepare summaries and quick research points to consider before investing in the company.
Note - I am not using ChatGPT to give me investment advice; instead, I use it to analyse and summarise extensive data.
We are still in the early days of exploring how AI can be used in our daily lives. I am personally excited about the introduction of AI to help boost overall productivity.
I hope you like the information above; if you have used ChatGPT in any other way to help boost your productivity, please share it in the comments.
